A former NFL player died at a young age

The Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League both used defensive tackle Jessie Lemonier, who passed away on Jan 26 at the young age of 25. The confirmation was made by The Lions in their tweet on Twitter. The Lions Tweeted, “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier,” Additionally, they also added, “Jessie was a model teammate and wonderful young man who is gone far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.” The reason for the demise wasn’t really disclosed.

Drew Smith, Lemonier’s agent, revealed to ESPN that he and his girlfriend were having a child.

In 2020, Jessie, an undrafted free agent from Liberty University, joined the Chargers. In 2020, he participated in 6 of their matches, as per Pro Football Statistics. He played in league matches for the Lions in 2021, compiling 15 interceptions and 11/2 sacks. The year before, Lemonier joined the Arizona Cardinals, though, and was cut during offseason workouts.

During the fifth stage of the XFL selection last November, the Arlington Renegades selected 25 years old Jessie. However, Lemonier later transferred him to the Birmingham Stallions and this all owes to his decision to join the Houston Gamblers of the USFL.
