Amukamara was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year while at Nebraska. After playing for Nebraska, Amukamara was selected by the Giants with the 19th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
As a rookie, he had 14 tackles and an interception. Prince played five seasons for the Giants.
In his 11 years of NFL career, Amukamara appeared in 113 games (99 starts), recording 477 tackles (417 solo, 11 for a loss), six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 78 passes defensed, 10 interceptions and one defensive touchdown.
Other than the Giants, Amukamara signed a year contract for the Jaguars, one season for the Jacksonville, and then joined the Bears in 2017. Amukamara played an impressive season in the Chicago Bears which led him to earn a $27 million extension for three years.
He also had brief stints with the Raiders, Cardinals, and Saints. There was a time when Prince’s star presence was a game-changer for the team. But over the years he lost his touch that made him a starting-caliber cornerback.
We simply wish him to happy retirement and best wishes for his upcoming career plans.
