Former LSU Coach Brushes Off Rumor Being Interested In Northwestern Job
There’s been a rumor going viral about Former LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron being interested in the Northwestern head coach job.
Although, Ed Orgeron brushed off this rumor in a recent interview with The Athletic and Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman. After Pat Fitzgerald was fired from the alma mater due to serious hazing allegations.
For a time being there was this news about Ed Orgeron being interested in the head coach position at the mater. On Thursday, Ed cleared things out while speaking with the Advocate.
He said, “Man, I don’t know where they get this stuff.”
Spoke to Ed Orgeron. There is no truth to the report that he has any interest in the Northwestern coaching job nor has he heard from anyone at Northwestern.

Northwestern University already hired the new interim head coach defensive coordinator David Braun for this year’s college football. But still the permanent head coach job position is empty and the university hasn’t decided anything yet.
LSU promoted Orgeron to replace Les Miles, and he led the team to a National Championship in 2019 before getting fired in ’21. Orgeron had a 67–47 record as a head coach and was 51–20 with LSU.
