News of Dawkins’ passing quickly spread through the football world, prompting an outpouring of prayers and heartfelt condolences on social media.

Colts owner Jim Irsay shared his condolences on Twitter, saying, “Rest in peace, Sean Dawkins. I am shocked and saddened. My prayers and condolences to Sean’s family.”

Others also shared their memories of Dawkins, with one person mentioning, “The number one thing I saw and truly admired competing against this stud was that if you want to earn respect you do it with your actions not your words. Called home so early, he was a special one. God bless his family.”
