FIFA Suspends Spanish HC Luis Rubiales After Non-Consensual Kiss With Jenni Hermoso
It took no time for FIFA to take action against the Spanish Soccer HC Luis Rubiales for what he did at the Women’s World Cup Trophy celebration.
Finally, justice has been served for the Spanish Soccer player Jenni Hermoso, and FIFA suspended Luis Rubiales, president of Soccer. Rubiales is facing this situation after his non-consensual kiss to Jenni Hermoso at the Medal ceremony.
Hermoso denied that the kiss wasn’t consensual and Rubiales claimed that the kiss was “mutual and with the consent” and refused to resign from the post.
“I want to clarify that, as seen in the images, at no time did I consent to the kiss he gave me, and of course, in no case did I try to lift the president. I do not tolerate my word being doubted, much less making up words I have not said.”
After Rubiale’s determination that he won’t leave his office, Fifa took matters into its own hands.
FIFA suspended Rubiales for 90 days from all football-related activities.
According to the FIFA statement,
“FIFA reiterates its absolute commitment to respect the integrity of all persons and therefore condemns with the utmost vigour any behavior to the contrary.”
However, he is still under investigation but for now, he’ll stay away from the Spanish national team.
