Fans respond to a news that Jon Rahm is in advanced discussions to join LIV Golf.

According to many sources, Jon Rahm is in advanced talks about joining LIV Golf, with the only thing holding him back is the league’s current format.

Rahm is now one of the top players, having won four tournaments this year, including the 2023 Masters. Reports of his joining the Upstart League have circulated since the league’s establishment, but the golfer has always refuted them.

However, Flushing It, a prominent golf tracking X account, has reported that the Spaniard is currently in advanced stage discussions to join the Saudi-backed circuit, and the reason he has yet to join the league is due to the format, not the money. Since the format change would require the approval of the existing LIV team captains, it is going to take a lot of work.

Flushing It wrote on X (formerly known as X):

“Jon won four times this year, including the Masters, and he’d be a tremendous asset to LIV.” If a deal is struck, he will join Sergio Garcia and Eugenio Chacarra on the Fireballs, with David Puig filling the fourth position to form an all-Spanish squad.”

The story startled fans online, who had conflicting feelings about it. While many speculated about the changes Rahm might want to make to LIV Golf’s structure, other fans thought that if the transaction went through, it would be a big blow to the PGA Tour.

Here are some of the responses:

“PGA is on the verge of being ruined by money-hungry golfers.”

“PGA tour becomes the feeder tour to LIV.”

“It’s in all their interests for Rahm to join. Based on his public comments to date, he’s worth listening to! Let’s hope they get it done!! But I reiterate, there are 2 spots at @rippergc_ !”

Where was Jon Rahm last seen playing? The golfer’s most recent performance was investigated.

The Spaniard was last seen participating at the DP World Tour Championship, which was held at the Jumeirah Golf Club in Dubai from November 16 to 19. Jon Rahm, the reigning champion, finished equal sixth this year after shooting 17-under par over four days.

Nicolai Hojgaard won the season finale with a total of 21-under. He took home $3 million for his best triumph to date.
