Fans React To USWNT Coach Elimination Decision After 2023 FIFA World Cup Loss
The decision has been made on USWNT Coach Vlatko Andonovski’s elimination after the dreadful loss of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Four-time World Cup Champion USWNT’s performance this year in New Zealand was unbearable. It was a disappointing knockout round game between the U.S. team and Sweden, leading the USWNT to straight elimination from the World Cup 2023.
And for that, someone has to be blamed. The head coach of USWNT Vlatko Andonovski has made a decision. According to Lizzy Becherano of 90min, Andonovski is going to resign from the coach position as he was already progressing into his final year with the U.S. team.
Sources confirm Vlatko Andonovski is set to hand in his resignation in the coming days:

Andonovski took the place of the prior head coach Jill Ellis after retirement in 2019. Over the past few years, Andonovski has led the USWNT to four straight SheBelieves Cup titles, an Olympic bronze medal, and a CONCACAF Women’s Championship title.
There was some great accomplishment Andonovski achieved with USWNT. But it all went in vain after a terrible World Cup loss.
However, fans took the X Twitter to react to Andonovski’s resignation.
One fan wrote, “He knows resigning looks far better than being fired. He will get another head coaching job somewhere and coast along. Although, to USWNT fans he will always be the one that blew up a hell of a team.”
Another commented, “Unlike Berhalter Vlatko has some shame.”
One fan wrote, “Still waiting for this since 2021 Olympia fiasco.”
Another fan said, “Good god someone has heard our prayers!”
One fan said, “Resignation?! We all know that he was about to get fired but anyway good riddance !!”
Yugoslavia native Vlatko Andonovski played professional indoor soccer in the United States between 2000 and 2006. After his time over with Men’s Football, he went into coaching in the 2010s and found a lot of success with teams like the Missouri Comets, FC Kansas City, and Reign FC.
His final record as head coach of the USWNT was 51-5-9 – a 78.46-percent win rate. But all these past career achievements couldn’t save him from the World Cup loss aftermath.
