Fans Not Happy With College World Series Ballpark Setup in Omaha
Omaha, Nebraska has been hosting the College World Series since 1950, originally at Rosenblatt Stadium. Nowadays, the games take place at Charles Schwab Field, the new stadium that replaced Rosenblatt. The city has secured the Rights to hold the event until at least 2035. However, some fans are unhappy with how things are set up at this year’s tournament.
5 more years of this and I'm gonna start an online movement to move the MCWS out of Omaha. This stadium is broken.

Strong winds in Omaha have made the ballpark quite challenging for hitters. Normally, hits that would have been home runs end up falling short in the outfield because of the winds.
These windy conditions have affected teams that rely on powerful offenses, and some fans feel that it doesn’t accurately showcase which college baseball team is truly the best.
“One fan complained while replying to another fan’s question, “The 20+mph winds blowing in from dead center every game making it a snooze fest. Guys can barely hit a double because the outfield just plays in knowing almost nothing gets over their head due to the wind.”

On the other hand, some fans argue that the ballpark in Omaha plays larger than other college stadiums. They believe that teams should take into account the additional distance and adjust their game plan accordingly, considering both the wind and the field size.
THIS JUST IN…. “The Chuck Box” is HUGE & bigger than most college parks….AND when you add the wind blowing in off the river, it plays even bigger. This isn’t some new thing that just happened.

Hence, why a HR Hitting offense isn’t “sustainable” in Omaha, b/c Mother Nature
Regardless of the wind’s impact, the tournament will continue in Omaha this year and in the future, as the city remains committed to hosting the College World Series.
