Suzy Kolber who has worked for a 27-year career at ESPN has come to an end. She made her final decision to retire from her job. Kolber was among the many employees who were laid off this week. She was a remarkable host for ESPN’s Monday Night Football team.
“Today I join the many hard-working colleagues who have been laid off,” Kolber tweeted. “Heartbreaking-but 27 years at ESPN was a good run. So grateful for a 38 yr career! Longevity for a woman in this business is something Iโm especially proud of. Next step- a project that gives back.”
Right after Kolber announced her departure, media professionals from all over the country shared their positive thoughts about the significant contribution she made during her time at ESPN.
“Suzy Kolber is a pioneer and a legend. She, like others laid off today, always will be remembered and missed,” Adam Schefter tweeted.
“This day sucks, not the type of news you want to find out. Sad to see some of the people I grew up watching on ESPN being let go. Suzy Kolber, like the others, has been amazing at her job for years. Wishing her and them the best,” Dov Kleiman said.
“Paved the way for so many of us ladies! Youโre the goat,” Kayla Anderson wrote.
Kolber is not the only well-known person who was let go by ESPN this week. Keyshawn Johnson, Max Kellerman, Jalen Rose, Jeff Van Gundy, and Steve Young have also been released from their positions.
It’s definitely a sad day for fans of ESPN’s TV shows and content.
