Faf du Plessis was born in Pretoria, Transvaal Province, South Africa. At the age of 3 years, his parents got separated, from then he lived with his mother in his early life years. Du Plessis had done his schooling from Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Afrikaans High School for Boys aka Affies). He attended this school with his teammates from Titans, AB De Villiers, Heino Kuhn, and Jacques Rudolph. Faf du Plessis completed his graduation from the University of Pretoria.
