Xbox fans were promised an exciting year in 2023, but many are still skeptical about the company’s upcoming releases. Despite the January showcase, there are no firm release dates yet for exclusives like Forza Motorsport and Starfield. Xbox fans were also hoping for updates on the long-awaited Fable reboot and Perfect Dark, but rumors suggest that both games are “miles away” and are experiencing troubled development.

The Next Big Xbox Exclusives: Hellblade 2 and Avowed

According to VGC’s Andy Robinson, the next big Xbox exclusives after Starfield could be Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Avowed. He reveals that Fable is still “miles away” and only recently entered full production, despite being announced almost three years ago. Jordan Miller of VGC also mentioned that the new Fable game may be more similar to CD Projekt‘s The Witcher games than previous Fable titles, although it’s not clear whether he means in terms of gameplay or tone.

Redfall is Xbox’s Next Priority:

Before anything else, Microsoft’s next priority is Bethesda’s Redfall, which is scheduled for a May launch. However, Microsoft is also busy trying to get its Activision Blizzard acquisition approved, which is facing pushback from UK and US regulators.

While Xbox fans eagerly await more information about Fable and Perfect Dark, it seems that they will have to wait a bit longer. In the meantime, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Avowed are rumored to be the next big Xbox exclusives after Starfield, which is set to release in 2023. As Microsoft continues to face regulatory hurdles for its Activision Blizzard acquisition, its focus, for now, is on the upcoming release of Redfall in May.
