Breanna Stewart is heading to the Big Apple

After Las Vegas, it’s the New York Liberty now who made a big-name signing. Star player Breanna Stewart is set to join hands with Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones as she is headed to the Big Apple. This will see the Liberty make one of the finest and most prolific attacking trios in the whole league. The excitement is up the roof as both Ionescu and Jones have been buzzing over social media. The duo could not hold their excitement of playing alongside the two-time WNBA Finals MVP.

About Stewart

Breanna has been one of the finest players to grace the WNBA. She spent seven years in the North-west Pacific before getting picked as the No.1 pick in the 2016 Draft. In her freshman season, Stewart won the Rookie of the Year. Ever since then, she has been killing it in the league and has led the Seattle Storm to win the championship in 2018 and 2020.

Apart from that, she has just won the scoring title in 2022 where she averaged a league-best and career-best 27 points a night and 9.5 rebounds along with 4.2 assists. She has also been named an All-Star 4-time. She even managed to score from an incredible 52% of shots from the deep.  

She will immensely bolster the Liberty squad which finished 16-20 in the previous season and lost to Chicago Sky in the first round of the playoffs. Ionescu who was certainly alone in the offense will now have both Stewart and Jones, who arrived through a loan deal with the Suns.

New York will certainly host some cracking fixtures of games in 2023. They are a team to watch for this season.
