EX-NFL Son Antonio Armstrong Jr. Sentenced To Life In Prison For Parricide
EX NFL’s son Antonio ‘A.J.’ Armstrong Jr. was found guilty of parricide and sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday.
The son of former NFL linebacker Antonio Armstrong Sr., Antonio received a lengthy prison sentence for murdering both his parents in 2016. 23-year-old Armstrong Jr. was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 40 years.
In 2016, Armstrong shot both his parents while they were sleeping. He placed a pillow over their faces before reporting gunshots to the police.
Via Click 2 Houston report, Armstrong’s trial more details are,
“During week one, the state took up all five days, speaking to more than 20 witnesses and showcasing hundreds of text messages between A.J., his parents and his girlfriend, which showed him lying, setting a fire at his home, getting in trouble at school, sneaking out of the house, making bad grades and smoking marijuana.”
“We also saw emotion from A.J. during the first week, and the mood of the courtroom changing when his parent’s autopsy photos were shown to the jury. He visibly started crying. The prosecutors went to great lengths to only let the jury see the photos.”
Armstrong was immediately remanded after Wednesday’s judgment was announced. Our thoughts with those who were affected by the losses of Antonio and Dawn Armstrong.
