Ex-Champion Bianca Andreescu Drops Out From U.S. Open After Injury

Former champion Bianca Andreescu dropped out from the U.S. Open after injury.

The U.S. Open Tennis is set to begin this Monday, and now the news is coming from Tennis World USA, that 2019 champion Bianca Andreescu has officially withdrawn from the 2023 U.S. Open Tournament.

23-year-old Bianca said lately she has been suffering from a stress fracture in her back. Due to her Back injury, she already missed the Cincinnati Masters major event.

Andreescu said,

“During my match in Washington, I started experiencing pain in my back that kept getting worse and I did everything I could the other night in Montreal to play at my highest level. All of this led me to undergo medical examinations and sadly the results have revealed a small stress fracture in my back. This unfortunately means that I won’t be able to compete in Cincinnati. My main focus will be on giving my back the rest it needs.”

Andreescu’s initial plan regarding the U.S. Open was to rest as much as possible. Unfortunately, her treatment didn’t go well with her back as she expected it would be fine soon.

So Andreescu has dropped out from one of her career’s main tennis championships.

In 2019 Bianca Andreescu won the U.S. Open by defeating the Serena Williams.

We wish her a speedy recovery.
