ESPN Analyst Kirk Herbstreit’s Thoughts On Realignment Of College Football
As the College Football season is about to knock at the door. ESPN Analyst Kirk Herbstreit thinks there are more realignments about to come.
Due to drastic Pac-12 conditions, this would be the last season for college football until USC, UCLA Oregon, and Washington join the Big Ten next year. The other major schools of Pac-12 including Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah join the Big 12 in 2024.
According to College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit, there are more to come. In a recent interview with ON3 Herbstreit said,
“I just feel like more’s coming. I don’t feel like we’re done until we get to August of 2024, I feel like anything and everything’s in play. So I’m trying my hardest to keep an open mind to this whole thing because once you put teams like West Virginia and Penn State on the field together, you see those uniforms on the field together competing, all the bullsh*t and all the noise kind of goes away, and it’s just football. And the game is still freaking unbelievable.”
Looking at the Pac-12 situation, Kirk made such a good point. There are only four schools left in the conference. Until its members poach new schools for the conference, this would be the final season of the Pac-12.
And with that, those remaining schools need to seek new homes to survive in the long run.
