Antony, who arrived from Ajax, became the second most expensive signing for the Red Devils, sitting behind Pogba and ahead of Maguire. The 22-year-old made a decent start in life in Manchester. However, an injury kept him out for a long and in the meanwhile, the competition in his position grew.
Since Antony has featured in just started in 2 games since October. Homegrown teenage sensation, Garnacho has been shining when given the opportunity.
The Brazilian has raw talent but a high ceiling. He needs to be polished and nurtured to become one of the best in the world. Fortunately, he still has time on his side.
How does Ten Hag plan to improve Antony?
The FA Cup fixture against Reading gave Antony an opportunity which he capitalized. Ten Hag explained how Antony is still young and needs to learn over time. He went on to say:
“We have to challenge him and if you challenge him, he can adapt and adjust his game.”
