Elite 2024 Defensive Recruit Peyton Woodyard Flips To Crimson Leaving Bulldogs Behind
The Elite Class 2024 defensive recruit Peyton Woodyard flipped to the Alabama Crimson Football and left the Georgia Bulldogs behind.
In January, Peyton Woodyard one of the top recruits committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Not the breaking news coming via 247 Sports that Four-star safety Peyton Woodyard has flipped to Alabama and left Georgia.
Peyton said that he is very much influenced by the head coach of Alabama Nick Saban played a major role in his decision.
In an interview with 247 Sports, Woodyard said, “The opportunity to be coached by Nick Saban was huge for me. He’s heavily involved with the defensive backs and specifically the safeties and that was big for me.”
He further added, “I’m very excited about my decision. It’s been tough and I have great respect for Georgia, Fran Brown, and coach Kirby Smart.”
Woodyard believes he made the best decision of his life. “Coach Fran is always going to be my guy regardless of what happens, but I really felt like this was the best decision for me.”
According to 247 Sports, Peyton is currently the ninth-best recruit in his home state (California) and the sixth-best safety in the country, the No. 81 overall recruit in the country. He played for St. John Bosco High School before he committed to Georgia and now flipped to Alabama.
Rookie Peyton Woodyard starts his first NCAA Football Season in September.
