EA Game Apex Legends: Cross Progression Update

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released on February 4, 2019, and is available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

In Apex Legends, players are grouped into squads of three and compete against other squads in a last-team-standing battle on a constantly shrinking map. The game features a roster of playable characters, each with their own unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Players must use teamwork, strategy, and quick reflexes to survive and emerge victorious. Apex Legends has received critical acclaim for its fast-paced gameplay, diverse cast of characters, and unique gameplay mechanics. The game has also become a popular e-sport, with numerous professional leagues and tournaments featuring some of the world’s best players.

Does it include cross-progression?

Cross-progression is a feature in video games that allows players to access and transfer their game progress across multiple platforms. This means that if a player starts playing a game on one platform, such as a PC, they can continue playing on another platform, such as a console, without losing their progress.

This includes things like game progress, unlocked items, in-game currency, and achievements. For example, if a player starts playing Apex Legends on a PC and then switches to playing on a PlayStation 5, they can link their accounts and continue playing with all of their unlocked items, skins, and progress intact. It provides a more convenient and enjoyable gaming experience for players, and it’s likely that we will see more games adopting cross-progression in the future.

When asked about it on Twitch, In a Twitch clip captured during a developer panel with Brown Girl Gamer Code in 2020, former Apex game director Chad Grenier said cross-progression was “a lot more work” than he thought it would be.

He added, “We are working on cross-progression that will allow people to carry over purchases, skins, and account progress. And, it will probably be a little while longer, but eventually, we’ll have that.”
