Dylan Mulvaney Opens Up About Bud Light’s March Madness Backlash

During the 2023 NCAA Tournament, March Madness, Bud Light teamed up with Dylan Mulvaney, a well-known transgender TikTok star. However, this collaboration didn’t sit well with a significant portion of Bud Light’s customers, leading to boycotts across the country.

Finally, after all the negativity she faced online, Dylan Mulvaney decided to speak up about the backlash she received from the Bud Light promotion.

Mulvaney admitted that the response she received was worse than she had ever imagined. She was scared to go outside because of the hurtful things people were saying online. Mulvaney wished she had addressed the situation earlier, but she was afraid of more negative reactions. She also felt guilty for what happened. She had hoped Bud Light would support her publicly, but they never reached out to her.

For several months, Mulvaney has been afraid to leave her house. People have made fun of her in public and even followed her around. It has been a lonely and difficult time for her. Mulvaney believes that when a company hires a transgender person but doesn’t stand up for them, it gives customers permission to be hateful and transphobic. This doesn’t just affect her, but it also has serious consequences for the wider transgender community.

Mulvaney is clearly disappointed by Bud Light’s lack of support.

As a result of this controversy, it seems that Anheuser-Busch had no choice but to let go of their group vice president for marketing, Daniel Blake, and Bud Light’s marketing vice president, Alissa Heinerscheid.
