Draymond Green Finds Kyrie Irving’s Refusal to Take Dillon Brooks’ Jersey Hilarious
On Monday night, the Dallas Mavericks suffered a 112-108 defeat at the hands of Dillon Brooks and the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite the loss, Kyrie Irving, the star point guard for the Mavericks, remained gracious in defeat and even offered his jersey to Brooks after the game. However, to everyone’s surprise, Irving never took Brooks’ jersey in return.
The incident quickly caught the attention of Draymond Green, a veteran player for the Golden State Warriors and one of Brooks’ most outspoken rivals in the league. During an episode of his podcast, Green’s producer asked him for his thoughts on Irving not accepting Brooks’ jersey. In response, Green simply laughed and acted as though he was shocked by the turn of events.
Brooks, on the other hand, seemed unfazed by the exchange and took it in stride. It’s no secret that Brooks has rubbed some of his opponents the wrong way with his on-court antics and trash talk. However, his performance on Monday night was undeniable, as he shut down Irving in the fourth quarter and helped lead his team to victory.
Despite the rivalry between Brooks and Green, it’s clear that even the most bitter of foes can still find humor in the game of basketball. As for Irving and Brooks, only time will tell if they will have another opportunity to exchange jerseys in the future.
The Controversial Question: Is Dillon Brooks the Most Disliked Player in the NBA?
Dillon Brooks has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons this NBA season. The Memphis Grizzlies player has developed a reputation for getting into fights on the court and causing trouble off of it. Recently, Brooks even got into an altercation with a cameraman.
Unfortunately, his behavior has been a poor reflection of the Grizzlies team as a whole, with Ja Morant also struggling to keep his temper in check this year.
Brooks’ negative image has not gone unnoticed by NBA fans, who have been calling him out for his constant trouble-making and confrontational attitude towards other players. In particular, Brooks seems to have a grudge against the Golden State Warriors, frequently getting into heated moments with their players. Brooks has even gone on record to say that he dislikes the Warriors, adding fuel to the fire of his already controversial reputation.
It’s no wonder all Draymond Green could do was laugh at Dillon’s jersey getting rejected by Kyrie Irving on Monday night. Irving said his snub wasn’t intentional.
To be fair to Dillon Brooks, he’s been a solid role player for the Grizzlies since his rookie season. This year, Brooks is averaging 14.2 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.6 rebounds. While the rest of the NBA is growing to despise him, at least he has the Memphis fans to back him up.
