Dinesh Karthik’s early life and Education:

Dinesh Karthik was born and brought up in a Telugu family in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Karthik has done his schooling at Carmel School and Fahaheel Al-Watanieh Indian Private School in Kuwait.

Karthik’s father Krishnakumar worked hard upon his son’s career and made him play cricket when he was 10 only. His father himself wanted to become a cricketer but couldn’t do so due to his family’s restrictions. His father used to throw speedy leather balls at him so that he could get used to them and sharpen his reflexes.

At the initial stages of his career, he was a batsman then he learned wicketkeeping at his Tamil Nadu Youth Teams through his coach Robin Singh.

He made his first-class debut in 2000-01 for Tamil Nadu and for the Indian Cricket Team he appeared in the debut match in 2004. He made his maiden Test century against Bangladesh. Also, he was India’s leading scorer in their Test tour of England, helping India win their first series in England in 21 years.

Later the couple broke their marriage and took divorce in 2012, after which Dinesh Karthik got engaged to Dipika Pallikal in November 2013 and tied the knot 2 years after in August 2015 in traditional Hindu and Christian rituals. Dipika is a squash champion. The couple gave birth to twins named Kabir and Zain on 18th October 2021.

Dinesh Karthik’s Controversies:

Since the couple was facing some issues in their marriage due to the other cricketer Murali Vijay’s interference, the couple got divorced IN 2007. It was said that the couple was going through a rough patch due to Murali Vijay and Nikita’s extra-marital affair, after divorce in 2012 Murali and Nikita got married. After which, Dinesh also tied the knot with his second wife Dipika Pallikal who is a squash champion.

Also in July 2021, he was accused of making a sexist comment while commentating for the 2nd ODI match between Sri Lanka and England. He later apologized after getting criticized heavily over various platforms, especially on social media. He apologized while doing commentary for the 3rd ODI match of Sri Lanka and England.
