Developers of Throne and Liberty reveal a new real-time strategy game named Project G.
NCSoft, the South Korean developer, and publisher behind popular MMO games like Blade and Soul and Lineage 2, has announced a new real-time strategy game called Project G. Developed in Unreal Engine, the game will be available on both PC and mobile platforms, although a release date has not yet been confirmed.
Large-Scale War in Fantasy Settings
Project G is set in the fantasy world of Pangea and focuses on large-scale wars between different races, similar to the Total War series. The game promises colorful fantasy settings with sci-fi elements and features different races and a wide variety of units to create large-scale armies.
An MMO Emphasizing Fantasy Elements
Although the gameplay is similar to classic real-time strategy games, Project G is an MMO that emphasizes fantasy elements like dragons, monsters, advanced buildings, and civilizations. Players must develop their land, gather residents, and construct buildings while assembling an army to defeat dragons, enemy troops, and monsters that wreak havoc on the continent. In addition, the game will implement a guild system that will fight for territories filled with resources.
NCSoft’s Upcoming Release
NCSoft recently announced an agreement with Amazon Games to publish Throne and Liberty, an upcoming RPG for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in Europe, North America, South America, and Japan. The game will support cross-platform play, and it is scheduled for a 2023 release.
Expectations for Project G
Players can expect Project G to offer a wide variety of units and buildings to create a civilization that can be the rightful ruler of the continent. The gameplay is not all about winning and losing, as players will need to back down to keep casualties at a minimum.
In summary, NCSoft’s next project, Project G, is a new real-time strategy game based on large-scale wars in a fantasy world. It will be available on both PC and mobile platforms, and while no release date has been confirmed, it could potentially release alongside NCSoft’s other upcoming game, Throne and Liberty. With its emphasis on fantasy elements and its unique MMO gameplay, Project G is set to offer a fresh take on the real-time strategy genre.
