Developers of Diablo 4 Confirm No Xbox Game Pass Release Plans
Diablo 4, the highly anticipated game from Blizzard, won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass on its release, according to General Manager Rod Ferguson. This news comes as speculation surrounding a possible Game Pass release continues, especially with the proposed acquisition of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft. However, Ferguson has confirmed that there are currently no plans for this to happen.
Beta Access for Diablo 4
The first Diablo 4 beta will take place this weekend, from March 16th to March 19th, and will only be available to players who have pre-purchased the game. However, an open beta will also be available from March 24th to March 26th for all fans to try out the game for free.
Rewards for Beta Players
Players who participate in the upcoming beta sessions will have the opportunity to earn rewards. These rewards include a Wolf Pack cosmetic that can be unlocked by reaching level 20, as well as Initial Casualty and Early Voyager titles.
Crossplay and Target Platforms
While the final version of Diablo 4 is expected to feature crossplay between platforms, it is unclear if this feature will be active during the beta sessions. The game will be available on current-gen and last-gen consoles, as well as PC.
June 6th Release Date
Diablo 4 is set to be released on June 6th, but the game is still in development. The beta sessions will be used to collect feedback from the community and make necessary adjustments.
Acquisition Obstacles
The proposed acquisition of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft is facing obstacles, with the UK’s CMA opposing the acquisition, citing concerns about competition in the industry. If the deal goes through, it is possible that future Activision-Blizzard games may not be released on Xbox Game Pass.
