Katie Boulter, Alex de Minaur’s girlfriend, has expressed her satisfaction with her partner as Australia advanced to consecutive Davis Cup finals despite Italy’s victory on November 26.

Australia competed well in this year’s team event, making it to the finals, where they hope to win their 29th championship and snap a title drought that dates back to 2003. But just as Canada removed them from the summit conflict the previous year, Italy dashed their dreams once more this year.

Italy led 1-0 when Matteo Arnaldi of Italy defeated Alexei Popyrin of Australia in the opening singles match, 7-5, 2-6, 6-4. Italy won their first Davis Cup in 47 years when Jannik Sinner defeated Alex de Minaur 6-3, 6-0, capping up an incredible week.

British No. 1 Katie Boulter expressed her satisfaction with her boyfriend’s and his team’s constancy on Instagram stories after the match, writing:
