Denzel Washington weighs in on Dak Prescott’s talents as Cowboys leader.
Dak Prescott is still looking for his first Super Bowl ring. Denzel Washington has two Golden Globes and several nominations, so he understands what it’s like to come close but fall short time and again.
Washington was questioned about the Cowboys’ Super Bowl prospects on Tom Brady’s Let’s Go! Podcast.
He was silent for a minute before answering.
He began by claiming he “loves” Dak Prescott but believes the Los Angeles Lakers, led by an ageing LeBron James, would win a championship before the QB. He phrased it this way:
“I admire the quarterback.” I adore him. He is a man’s leader. He’s a godly man. He should win titles.”
Jim Gray, the show’s co-host, then questioned whether the Lakers and Cowboys would win a title first. Washington responded with a single word:
“Lakers.”
Washington was implying one of two possibilities with his forecast. The first implication is that the Lakers will win it all this year or next, with LeBron James turning 39 this year. Only 25 players in the NBA have played at least one game in their forties, so James is playing on borrowed time.
If Washington predicts that the Los Angeles Lakers will not win it all in a hurry, he is dangerously near to saying that Prescott will never receive a ring. Dak Prescott is 30 years old, and NFL rebuilds take time, especially when it comes to winning a title.
Dak Prescott puts a stop to CeeDee Lamb’s surge.
CeeDee Lamb was one of the NFL’s hottest wide receivers entering the game against the Carolina Panthers. Lamb had at least 100 yards in each of the previous four games, and he had at least 150 yards in three of them.
Simply put, he was explosive. However, against the Carolina Panthers, the wideout posted a second-string receiver stat line. He had six catches for 38 yards and a score in the contest. Fantasy owners are hoping this isn’t the start of a new trend, as Lamb had only one game above 80 yards between Week 1 and the beginning of Week 6.
