Deion Sanders Gets Another Major Quarterback Commitment For Colorado
Legendary NFL cornerback and college football coach, Deion Sanders, has once again secured another top recruit for his team. Quarterback Danny O’Neil, a three-star prospect from Indiana, committed to Colorado during his visit to the campus on Monday. This news was reported by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.
O’Neil, who accounted for an impressive 84 touchdowns in his previous two seasons at Cathedral High School, expressed his excitement to play for Sanders and offensive coordinator Sean Lewis.
“I just think the people there really sold it for me,” said O’Neil. “Obviously it’s a beautiful place and a lot of hype there with Coach Prime, but being able to connect with Coach Prime and Coach Lewis really sold it for me and made it feel like home.”
Ranked as the No. 6 recruit from Indiana and No. 33 overall quarterback by 247Sports, O’Neil believes that Sanders’ explosive offense will be fun to play in. “I think the situation is a good one being able to compete after Shedeur [Sanders] leaves,” he said. Shedeur is Deion’s son, who joined him from Jackson State to be his starting quarterback.
With O’Neil’s commitment, Colorado’s 2024 class now has five recruits, including defensive lineman Omar White. The team hopes that Sanders’ recruiting prowess will lead to championships in the near future.
Deion Saners’ star power and coaching expertise have once again helped him secure a promising recruit for his team, as he aims to build a strong foundation for Colorado’s football program.
