Will United offer a new contract to De Gea?
Although Erik ten Hag is keen on bringing in a new keeper, David de Gea believes that he will earn a new contract with Manchester United.
Given that the Spaniard’s contract runs out in the summer, the club is eager to tie him down on a new deal but with reduced terms.
Ten Hag is looking to bring in a new shot-stopper, a ball-playing one. David De Gea has been impressive this season with 13 clean sheets to his name despite having a poor start to the season.
Although, the Red Devils are being linked with a new keeper. De Gea is positive about getting offered a renewal given that he is enjoying life at Old Trafford.
How is De Gea feeling at Man United?
De Gea said, “We’re still talking. I’m just focused on the game, that’s the most important thing, but for sure it’s going to end in a good way. I’ve been in very tough moments for this club. Now I’m enjoying it more.”
“Winning games, especially here at home, it’s great to watch. I think it’s everything, a good manager, good players who bring experience to the team, people who want the ball, who play well with the ball. It’s a mix of everything.
“Everyone is ready, the people who aren’t playing much are training well, they’re ready to play and it’s great, we’re on a great run. It’s great, the spirit is great, and the atmosphere is great.
“Everyone is thinking in the same way, playing in the same way. The team spirit is great for everyone, everyone fights until the end, and everyone is ready from the bench to perform well. It’s great to watch the team playing and performing well.”
De Gea on team spirit
De Gea was exceptional as United got the better of Crystal Palace on Saturday. once again starred to help United hold on to a win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. He went on to offer praise on his teammates as he said:
“It was tough, especially after the red card. I think we controlled the game very well. In the first half, we scored very early and similarly, in the second half, we started really well. We scored a second and after the red card, of course, it was really tough.”
“We fought until the end and I think the team did really well. We defended really well because they put players in front. We conceded one goal but I think we won a massive three points today.
“For sure, it’s not easy when we lose Casemiro. Then they start to attack and score a goal with still 15 to 20 minutes to go, so I think we showed massive spirit today and great character.
“The whole team, including the players from the bench, have been amazing. That means we are doing really good things as a team and everyone is ready to play.”
