David Bakhtiari is “Sick” of NFL’s Artificial Turf After Aaron Rodgers’ Injury

Following his friend and ex-teammate Aaron Rodgers’ recent ankle injury in an NFL game, David Bakhtiari didn’t hold back his thoughts on Twitter. He’s worried about the NFL’s use of artificial turf, a gripe shared by many players.

Tonight’s game took place at MetLife Stadium, which is known for its troublesome artificial turf. Despite a recent upgrade, Rodgers faced problems when Bills’ player Leonard Floyd tackled him, causing Rodgers’ left foot to get stuck in the turf during the first quarter.

In a candid tweet, Bakhtiari said, “Congrats @nfl. How many more players have to get hurt on ARTIFICIAL TURF??! You care more about soccer players than us. You plan to remove all artificial turf for the World Cup coming up. So clearly it’s feasible. I’m sick of this. Do better!”

Bakhtiari isn’t alone in his frustration. The issue of artificial turf has been a long-standing concern for many NFL players, coaches, and fans.

Regarding Rodgers’ injury, initial x-rays showed no serious damage, but he won’t be returning to the game. He left the stadium, presumably for further medical checks. This injury occurred during just the third dropback of Rodgers’ first drive against the Jets.
