Darvin Ham admitted his defeat against Damian Lillard
The Los Angeles Lakers are facing a hard time lately. They are the worst team in the Western Conference, and recently got defeated by the Portland Trail Blazers. The Lakers are now at a 26-32 record in the 2022-23 NBA season.
Damian Lillard made a scoring outburst in the first half of the game and it was enough to defeat the Lakers. Eventually, towards the end of the game, Lillard scored 40 points, 5 assists, and 6 rebounds securing a 127-115 victory for his team, the Blazers, against the Lakers who were without James.
The Lakers’ coach acknowledged defeat against Lillard
The Lakers’ coach Darvin Ham did not really praise Damian, but he admitted his defeat to him. In the postgame conference, Ham admitted his loss against the Trail Blazers.
When asked about his views on Lillard’s 40-point performance.
Ham said, “He’s such an elite level scorer, basketball player. Smart, finding different ways to get the ball even though we’re trying to deny him off the ball. His movements, the way he navigates and uses screens. He’s just a phenomenal ball player, Anfernee as well. You just try to do your best to make it as difficult as possible for him. Outside of stealing his sneakers, I don’t know what else you can do. You play good D and he still knocks down shots.”
Darvin’s statement speaks for his current state of mind. It is obvious for him to give such statements as the Lakers are struggling to come back to their original form.
