Danica Patrick’s Thoughts on NASCAR's Upcoming Street Race

Danica Patrick is a well-known personality in the world of auto racing. She’s also the first woman to lead laps and achieve a top-five finish in the Indianapolis 500. Throughout her career, she competed in various racing series, including NASCAR and the IndyCar Series.

Danica’s skill and determination earned her a reputation as a trailblazer for women in motorsports. She continues to inspire aspiring racers with her achievements and has become a respected figure in the racing world. And it’s been a while since she’s connected with the NASCAR world and even gave a reaction the the Upcoming Street Race event.

NASCAR is going to have its first race on the streets of Chicago this weekend. The Chicago Sun-Times talked to Danica Patrick to ask her what she thinks about it.

Danica Patrick, who has spent a lot of time in Chicago during her career, doesn’t think the roads will be in bad condition on July 1-2.

“I’m sure the city of Chicago will make sure there’s no actual potholes where the track is,” Patrick said. “If there is any, they will be filled in.”

She then revealed what the drivers will be thinking about leading up to the race and once it starts.

“The track is very dirty and rough to start,” she explained. “It almost feels like a carnival ride out there. You just don’t know what to expect, so get used to that. Also, just being able to see where you’re going can take a little time because it’s not wide-open spaces; it’s walls. There’s not a lot of room for error, so you have to be methodical if you don’t want to crash. If you’re not, then you might.

“Usually, just the beginning of the weekend is what feels kind of, ‘Oh, this is different.’ But once the track kind of rubbers in a little bit and cleans off, then you’re back to feeling like you’re just at a road course. The competition always ends up feeling like the same.”

Patrick took a break in Europe and had a good time there. Before her vacation, she worked as a reporter for the Canadian Grand Prix in Formula One. Sadly, she won’t be able to attend the street race in Chicago this weekend.
