Damian Lillard’s epic 71-point game gets him blood drug test
On Sunday, Damian Lillard had a truly remarkable performance on the court, setting an NBA record with 71 points in only 39 minutes. Owing to his incredible talent and skill, he made 13 three-pointers, helping the Portland Trail Blazers to secure a 121-114 victory against the Houston Rockets.
It’s worth noting that Lillard’s achievement makes him the eighth player in NBA history to score 70 points or more. This is an impressive feat by any standard, but what makes it even more so is that Lillard is the only player on this elite list to achieve this feat over the age of 30. This speaks volumes about his dedication, hard work, and passion for the game of basketball. What’s more impressive is that Lillard is also the first player to score 70 points with 10 or more three-pointers. This is a testament to his remarkable shooting and scoring abilities, and it cements his status as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
All in all, Damian Lillard’s performance on Sunday was nothing short of phenomenal. He proved that he is a force to be reckoned with on the court, and his record-breaking achievement will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest moments in NBA history.
According to Sean Highkin of the Rose Garden Report, Damian Lillard was seen wearing a band-aid on his arm when he entered the locker room after his impressive performance. The league had drawn blood from him for a drug test, as Highkin reported in a tweet. Lillard expressed surprise that he was tested, particularly since he had already undergone a urine test the day before.
“To be honest, I was like, ‘are you guys serious?’. I already did the urine test yesterday and they followed it up with the blood test tonight after the game. That was the first time in my career that I was tested after a game. They know that I’m afraid of needles. Even though I have a lot of tattoos, it’s different when you’re getting a blood test,” Lillard explained. “It brought me down from being on a high to feeling down.”
