Damar Hamlin attended Sunday’s Divisional Round after recovering from cardiac arrest
The Buffalo Bills safety, Damar Hamlin survived a cardiac arrest and was seen playing the divisional round on Sunday against the Bengals.
The Bengals vanquished the Bills, 27-12, and will next play in the AFC Championship against the Kansas Chiefs. Prior to the game, Hamlin cheered his fans up by showing a love symbol from afar, the crowd applauded his recovery and presence in the game.
Hamlin made a stunning recovery in the Cincinnati Hospital. His comeback in the divisional round was somewhat emotional for the fans and teammates.
The game was played at the Highmark Stadium and was the teams’ first time after the incident of Jan. 02.
The incident of 2nd January
Damar Hamlin had a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field on Monday. He was admitted to the Cincinnati Hospital and the game was suspended.
The 24-year-old was not seen playing since the incident took place. Though there were some updates regarding his recovery.
Jordan Rooney stated Hamlin’s recovery. He said, “Despite being out of the hospital, Damar still has a lengthy recovery, Damar still requires oxygen and is having his heart monitored regularly. He has visited with the team a few times but he still gets winded very easily. He’s upbeat and positive and ready to continue to overcome this.”
Hamlin was shifted to Buffalo General medical center and was discharged on Jan. 11. The team and fans were excited about his recovery and return back into the game.
