Dahoud to leave Borussia Dortmund for free
Dahoud to leave Dortmund as a free agent
Mahmoud Dahoud plays center midfield for the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. However, the German has been a victim of numerous injuries for the whole of last year. This season as well, he has featured in just six games all season.
What did Sporting Director Kehl have to say?
While talking to BILD, Kehl explained the decision and said, “I had a very honest conversation with Mo last week. I told him that we will not be extending his contract in the summer.
“Mo has been with us for six years now, he is a very good footballer, and I really have a very high opinion of him, both in sporting terms and as a person. Nevertheless, we have decided to take this step.”
Dahoud arrived at Signal Iduna in 2017 by leaving Borussia Monchengladbach. Since then, he has featured in 137 games for the club.
Now at 27, the midfielder will look for a fresh start since he has failed to cement his place in the starting eleven. His quality cannot be questioned, though. With him leaving for free, a bunch of clubs across Europe will be looking for his signature.
But as Kehl said, “We have decided to take this step.” Now, it’s up to Dahoud to choose his next destination and continue his career in fruitful fashion.
