Cowboys Could Target 3 Quarterbacks To Replace Dak Prescott
The Dallas Cowboys are searching for a suitable player to replace Dak Prescott and are having a problem selecting the best candidate for it.
Dallas was roasted by San Francisco, 42-10, on Sunday Night Football this weekend. The Cowboys did just about nothing on offense, with Prescott throwing three interceptions.
“Didn’t see it coming,” Prescott said postgame. “Put everything into it and got punched in the mouth. Called it a couple weeks ago humbling against Arizona, but this may be the most humbling I’ve ever been a part of. Felt good about the preparation and felt good about everything, honestly, coming into this game, matchups, and they beat us in every aspect.”
That’s not good news. Can Prescott take the Cowboys to the Super Bowl? Fans are starting to think about what might happen to him on the team.
The Cowboys have issues, especially against the 49ers. But if Jerry Jones’ team exits the playoffs early again, might they search for a new quarterback?
If they do, who might be their choice for a quarterback in 2024?
Here are three options:
1. UNC quarterback Drake Maye
Maye is a top quarterback prospect in most years, but this time, he’s second to Caleb Williams. Williams is likely to be the first pick, but if the team picking second doesn’t need a quarterback, they might trade the pick.
2. Cowboys quarterback Trey Lance
Lance didn’t perform well in San Francisco, but he used to be a top prospect. If the Cowboys struggle in the 2023 season’s end, Lance might get a chance to play. If he does well, he could grab an opportunity going into 2024.
3. Tom Brady
Even though Tom Brady has retired from his NFL career, his ownership deal with the Raiders has yet to be finalized and there is a slim chance that fans might again get to see Brady on the field.
What do you think, which of these options Dallas will choose?
