Coco Gauff recently shared how she plans to spend the autumn season after returning to her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, ahead of the highly anticipated 2023 WTA Finals.

Gauff went home after losing in the 2023 China Open semifinals to Iga Swiatek. The Pole beat Gauff 6-2, 6-3, ending the American’s amazing 16-match winning run.

The World No. 3 qualified for the highly anticipated 2023 WTA Finals, which will be held in Cancun, Mexico, from October 29 to November 5. In addition to her singles campaign, she will play in the doubles category alongside her friend and fellow countrywoman, Jessica Pegula.

Coco Gauff recently turned to social media to share a wonderful set of photos illustrating how she is relishing the autumn season ahead of her WTA finals campaign in Cancun. The 19-year-old surprised her admirers by providing a look inside her life.

One of the images showed Gauff browsing among vinyls of timeless music in a wonderful old-school vinyl CD shop. In another snap, she showed off a lovely candle that looked like a pumpkin spice latte. She also shared a couple of stunning images of a lake.

“i <3 Autumn,” Gauff captioned her Instagram post.

The US Open winner also turned to Instagram stories to share a few photos from her trip to Atlanta. One image showed the quaint Hapeville Dwarf House, while the other showed her inside an elevator.

“First time here, this is my Disney world,” Gauff captioned her Instagram story.

Coco Gauff defends Iga Swiatek, saying, “I would love to have a season like hers.”

Following an outstanding 2022 season in which she attained the coveted World No. 1 status and won a remarkable eight championships, including two Grand Slams at the French Open and the US Open, Iga Swiatek’s fortunes did not improve in the current season.

Swiatek was only able to defend three of her previous year’s titles: at Doha, Stuttgart, and the French Open. She also won the Poland Open in 2023. Despite her homecoming glory, the Pole had a disappointing showing throughout the North American trip. As a result, she dropped to second place in the global rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka assuming the top spot following the end of the US Open.

Coco Gauff, who faced Iga Swiatek in the 2023 China Open semifinals, did not consider the former World No. 1’s season a failure.

I’ve seen some of the comments people are saying that she had not had a good season. I mean, she won a slam and was No. 1 forever,” Coco Gauff said, defending her rival in the presser before their China Open clash.

Gauff, who had a fantastic breakout season in 2023, acknowledged her respect for Iga Swiatek’s performance this year. She highlighted that she would have treasured the former World No. 1’s level of success.

“I’m like, I would dream to have the season like she had this year,” she went on to say.
