Cole started his pro baseball career in 1990, and after two years he was traded with the Pirates. He also spent his baseball career with the Rockies, Twins, and Red Sox after a brief stint with the Pirates.
Overall, he finished his career with a .280 batting average and 117 RBI. Alex Cole is mostly remembered for his 1991 season with Gaurdians where he had a .295 average with the Guardians that year.
Unfortunately, Alex Cole wasn’t the only one, the Guardians also lost their legendary former player left-handed pitcher Dick Tomanek at the age of 92.
Tomanek played for Cleveland from 1953-1954 and from 1957-1958. He finished his pro career with a 4.95 ERA and 10-10 record.
Our hearts and thoughts are with both Cole and Tomanek’s family and friends at their difficult time.
May both legends rest in peace.
