Final Content Packs and Free Updates

Colossal Order has revealed a set of final content packs, mini-expansions, and free updates that will be released throughout the year. The first set, called “World Tour” DLC, will be released on March 22 and includes Sports Venues, Shopping Malls, and Africa In Miniature community-made packs that introduce new assets, as well as new radio station DLC.

In May, Railroads of Japan, an upcoming content creator pack featuring Japanese railroads and related assets, will be released. Alongside it is the Industrial Evolution content creator pack, which will include new growable buildings from different areas, providing visual variety without players needing to hand-place everything. Another content creator pack, The Brooklyn & Queens, will also be released in May, which includes its own architectural themes based on the Brooklyn and Queens neighborhoods. Additionally, new radio stations like 90s Pop Radio and Piano Tunes will also be released.

Teaser for Mini-Expansion

The teaser video also hinted at an untitled mini-expansion to come, which may be related to vacation-themed content. This new addition could have a tangible impact on the player’s economy and transportation, making it a unique and exciting addition.

Cities: Skylines 2

Although Cities: Skylines 2 has been announced, the original game is still receiving content. With so much post-release content available, it remains to be seen whether the sequel’s features can hold up against a game that has seen nearly a decade of iteration. The original game, with its strong foundations, continues to provide an incredible amount of content, and its Steam Workshop integration is second to none.

Despite an upcoming sequel, Cities: Skylines continues to receive new content, including free updates, mini-expansions, and content creator packs. With new assets, radio stations, and a potential vacation-themed mini-expansion on the way, players have plenty of reasons to keep playing the original game. The game’s incredible amount of content, coupled with its Steam Workshop integration, ensures that Cities: Skylines remains the premier city-building game.
