Chiefs Stick to Tradition, Say No to Alternate Uniforms
The NFL’s offseason has seen a lot of chatter about alternate uniforms and helmets. Some teams, like the Buccaneers, Seahawks, and Titans, are bringing back retro designs, which fans love. On the other hand, the Colts are going for a fresh look, moving away from their traditional style.
Amidst all this excitement, the Kansas City Chiefs, one of the most popular NFL teams, have made a clear decision: they won’t be joining the trend of introducing alternate jerseys.
Team owner Clark Hunt explains the reason behind this choice, and it’s a heartfelt one. He says that his father Lamar, who founded the Chiefs, strongly believed in keeping a consistent and continuous look for the team’s uniform since the 1960s. This means the Chiefs have stuck with their recognizable red-and-white brand over the years.
According to Clark Hunt, “I think we have a very distinct brand with the red and white, and I don’t anticipate steering away from that any time soon.”
The Chiefs’ uniform has remained quite similar since they started out as the Dallas Texans in the NFL. It consists of a red helmet, and players wear either red or white jerseys along with red or white pants.
So, if you were hoping to see the Chiefs in something different this season or in the future, it looks like that won’t be happening. They’re keeping their classic and beloved look intact for all their games.
