Charlie Woods wins Notah Begay Golf Event with Dad Tiger Woods
Charlie Woods qualified for the Notah Begay III National Championship by winning the 14-15 age class of the Last Chance Regional with a 6-under 66.
Tiger Woods, his father, was on the bag, so it was a family affair for the little cub. It’s incredible to watch the Big Cat carrying and walking 18 holes. He was observed walking one of his courses earlier this summer, but doing so for a young golf competition is an even stronger indication that the famed golfer is nearing a comeback.
“It’s fantastic. “We just stay in our little world,” Charlie remarked of having his father caddie and accompany him to victory. “We take each shot one at a time.” He puts me on the spot.”
Charlie started his round with three consecutive birdies on holes 1-3. Woods bogeyed the par-4 5th and 7th holes before making his fourth birdie on the par-3 8th. He finished with 33 strokes.
Charlie recorded three consecutive birdies on holes 10-13 after the turn. A bogey on the par-4 16th kept his rival, Kaden Puranik, in the hunt. A birdie on the par-5 17th and an 8-foot birdie putt on the par-4 18th, though, clinched Woods’ one-shot victory and a return to Coushatta.
