Carolina Panthers Hiring New Head Coach for 2023 Season
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to win the division title after an 8-9 campaign, making the NFC South Division‘s total season one of the poorest in the NFL. The rest of the division, including the Carolina Panthers, who allegedly found their new head coach, concluded their 2022 campaigns with a combined 7-10 record.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Panthers intend to appoint Frank Reich, a former head coach of Indianapolis, as their new boss in Charlotte. Reich was their first quarterback, as mentioned by Rapoport, and will now be chosen as their first head coach to start the 2023 season.
Reich played for the Colts for four seasons, compiling a 40-33-1 record before being fired from the team later in the 2022 campaign. The Panthers have a busy offseason ahead of them because Reich will have the No. 15 pick in this year’s draft and there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the team, including the quarterback problem and what they want to do with the possibility of using free agency as a solution.
After a disappointing division performance the previous season, the 61-year-old will play in a new division where he will face the Buccaneers, Falcons, and Saints twice each year. However, this may give the Panthers’ franchise a chance to rebound and move up to contend with the Bucs and Todd Bowles at the top of the NFC South division.
Throughout the 2023 offseason, stay tuned to Bucs Gameday for additional coverage of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
