Carlos Alcaraz was observed training with his brother Alvaro Alcaraz Garifia ahead of the former’s third-round match at the Shanghai Masters.

The 20-year-old is presently participating in the Asian tennis circuit, having advanced to the semifinals of the China Open. He started his Beijing campaign by defeating Gregoire Barrere of France in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.

Alcaraz was recently seen training with Alvaro as he prepares for his upcoming round at the Shanghai Masters. The two were seen trading rallies from the baseline.

Alvaro is a retired tennis player who used to compete on the men’s doubles tour. Despite no longer competing in tennis, he remains a steady presence behind his younger brother.

He routinely travels with the World No. 2 and even shared a hotel room with him during the 2022 US Open. The pair apparently watched the film “300” before the youngster’s famous final match against Casper Ruud, in which the Spanish wonder won his first Grand Slam title.

Alvaro also appeared in the 2023 Cincinnati Masters final, when Djokovic defeated him in a dramatic three-set contest. The two had a strong relationship, as Alcaraz thanked Alvaro in his post-match prize presentation for always mentoring him in the correct direction.

“I have my brother here as well. It’s great to have you here, supporting me every day, making me a better person every day, learning from you as well, so thank you very much for being with me,” Alcaraz said. (via People)
