Since joining the Bills in 2020 as the Defensive Line Coach, Washington has played a crucial role in the team’s success. In the 2021 season, the Bills’ defense finished first in the league, allowing an average of only 17.0 points per game. They continued their impressive performance in 2022, ranking fourth by conceding an average of 19.1 points per game.
Due to his valuable contributions, Washington was promoted to the role of Senior Defensive Assistant ahead of the 2022-23 season, recognizing his expertise and impact on the team.
As the new Assistant Head Coach for the upcoming 2023-24 season, Washington will continue to focus on developing the defensive line, a key aspect of the Bills’ defensive strategy.
