Buffalo Bills’ Choice on Damar Hamlin Stirs NFL Fan Debate

Tonight, the Buffalo Bills are going head-to-head with the New York Jets in a big “Monday Night Football” game.

But there’s a bit of a surprise – Damar Hamlin won’t be playing.

The Bills’ safety won’t be part of the action for this game against their divisional rivals.

Mika Garafolo reported earlier today, “Damar Hamlin is expected to be inactive tonight vs. the #Jets in a numbers crunch in the defensive backfield, sources say. Hamlin will be a healthy inactive and could be back on the playing field for Buffalo in the coming weeks,”

While this news may disappoint some fans, it’s not entirely unexpected.

Some fans think there’s a good reason for Hamlin sitting this one out. Taylor Rapp is the main backup at safety, and Cam Lewis can step in at nickel cornerback or safety if needed.

One fan said, “Before people overreact, this inactive makes sense. Taylor Rapp is the primary backup at Safety and Cam Lewis at Nickel CB but with position versatility to Safety.”

Another fan had some doubts, saying, “Yeah something ain’t adding up here. How can he be clearly to play, but all the sudden can’t actually play? Is this what it’s gonna be every week?”

Another voice in the conversation added, “Can we be honest about all this yet or are we going to cover the rest of his career like this? The dude isn’t great, was only in that spot because of injuries in the first place. And like 99% positive he wasn’t making the 53-man without his circumstance.”

As the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets get ready to start at 8:15 p.m. ET tonight for “Monday Night Football,” the decision about Damar Hamlin continues to be a topic of discussion among NFL fans.
