Buck Showalter Gets Kicked Out of the Game After Umpire’s Big Mistake
The New York Mets had a tough night on Wednesday, and their manager Buck Showalter didn’t stick around till the end. In the eighth inning, with the Mets trailing 3-2, one of their pitchers accidentally hit a player from the Milwaukee Brewers with a pitch. Showalter thought the player had swung at the pitch, but the umpires disagreed and gave the Brewers a free base.
As luck would have it, the next batter for the Brewers, Christian Yelich, hit a single that brought in two runs, making their lead even bigger at 5-2. Showalter was not happy with the call and went out to argue with the umpires. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t his lucky day, as he was thrown out of the game. This was the second time in the last four games that he had been ejected.

This incident comes at a time when the Mets have been struggling a lot. They have only won seven games in June, which is not great. They’ve fallen to fourth place in their division and are not doing well in the wild-card standings either. Surprisingly, in six of their losses, they actually scored six or more runs, but still couldn’t win. Their most recent disappointment was when they blew a 6-3 lead and lost to the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.
Despite all these struggles, the team’s owner, Steve Cohen, made it clear before Wednesday’s game that Showalter’s job is safe for the rest of the season. It seems like Showalter intentionally got himself ejected to try and motivate his team, but unfortunately, it hasn’t been working. The Mets have lost eight of their last eleven games.

Overall, Buck Showalter’s ejection is a big deal because it happened during a tough time for the Mets. The team is under a lot of pressure to perform well, and this incident highlights the frustration that everyone is feeling. If the Mets want to make it to the playoffs, they’ll need to find a way to bounce back and start winning games again.
