Bryce Harper On A’s Franchise Moving To Vegas, Thinks A Bad Idea
Phillies Star Bryce Harper thinks it’s a bad idea to move the whole team to another city.
The relocation of Oakland Athletics The A’s to Las Vegas news was confirmed when the Nevada State Assembly and Nevada Senate pass the bill of $380 million to spend on the construction of a new baseball stadium in Las Vegas.
Where so many fans are excited about the news Nevada native Bryce Harper has a completely different opinion. Said he feels sorry for all the Oakland fans. “I see the A’s as Oakland. I don’t see them as Vegas,’’ said Harper to USA Today in an interview.
30 years old Bryce thinks Las Vegas is for the Ice Hockey as the Phillies’ right fielder and hitter himself a huge fan of the Vegas Golden Knights. Ice Hockey resides in the city’s heart. On that note, Bryce said it would be bad for the Baseball sports and team.
“ fans are so crazy about the Knights. It’s Vegas’ first team. It’s ours. It was kind of easy for people to gravitate towards that. Vegas wasn’t a big hockey town. It is now.”
It will take some great time to create a place for baseball in the native’s heart. He said- “baseball, you have people in town liking the Dodgers, and the Angels, and the Padres, and the Diamondbacks. It will take a few generations before they have a real fandom in baseball. I’m sure they’ll sell tickets for visiting fans, which is probably all they care about.’’
According to the player, it would be easy to sell the visitor fans but in the future when the Knights and A’s match clashes, hockey will grab more fans. He said we want expansion not moving a team to a whole different city.
