Bryce Harper Makes a Big Change to His Look to Get Better at Hitting

Bryce Harper, the guy who’s really good at baseball for the Phillies, has been having a tough time hitting the ball lately. To try and change his luck, he did something surprising – he shaved off his beard. A Phillies reporter named Todd Zolecki tweeted about it, saying, “Bryce Harper shaved to break his 0-for-16 slump.”

Harper, who’s 30 years old, hasn’t gotten a hit in four games. His last hit was a home run in a game against the Los Angeles Angels on August 30th, where they lost 10-8. Maybe changing his look will help him start hitting again.

So far this season, Harper has done pretty well with a .295 batting average. He’s also gotten 55 RBIs, which means he helped his team score runs, and his OPS is .875 in 103 games.

Right now, the Phillies have won 76 games and lost 61. They’re in second place in the National League East. But they’re quite a bit behind the Atlanta Braves, who have the best record in the whole conference with 90 wins and only 46 losses.

Next up for the Phillies is a game against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park on Tuesday night.

It’s kind of interesting that Bryce Harper shaved his beard, which was a big part of how people recognized him. But he’s really serious about getting better at hitting. Let’s see if this change does the trick and helps him and his team do even better for the rest of the season.
