Bloober CEO Team has stated that a remake of Silent Hill 2 is “Technically Ready”
Exciting news for Silent Hill fans as Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno suggests that the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake is close to completion. Although there is still no official release date, Babieno’s comments hint at a possible announcement later this year.
What we know about the Silent Hill 2 Remake
Last year, Konami announced the return of the Silent Hill series with a bunch of new titles, including the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear and The Medium, is developing the game, which is a PS5 console exclusive for 12 months.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is “Technically Ready”
In an interview with polish outlet Bankier, Babieno stated that the Silent Hill 2 Remake is “technically ready.” However, he clarifies that this doesn’t mean the game is finished, but they are close. Babieno also stresses that the release schedule and promotion of the game are in Konami’s hands.
Possible Release Date Announcement
With Babieno’s comments, it’s possible that we may get an official release date for the Silent Hill 2 Remake later this year. Fans are hopeful that the game will be announced at the rumored PlayStation Showcase before E3 this summer. However, it’s best to wait for an official date before getting our hopes up.
Nurses Get a Redesign
In other Silent Hill 2 news, the game’s iconic Nurses have undergone a bit of a redesign. Art director Masahiro Ito claims that the original models “exposed skin too much.” Fans seem to be in agreement with this change, as it better represents James Sunderland’s psyche and the game’s themes.
