Bill McColl, Former Professional Golfer Died In A Car Crash
Former Professional golfer Bill McColl died in a car crash this week, leaving the golf world in shock.
Former European Tour player and golf instructor Bill McColl died after he was involved in a two-car accident. He was 66 years old.
The tragic news is coming from Sports Illustrated, according to the report the Car crash happened close to the iconic Old Course at St. Andrew’s.
Sports Illustrated shared more details:
McColl, 66, was reported to have had a sudden medical emergency while driving to St. Andrews where he worked at St. Andrews Indoor Golf Center as an instructor.
An emergency helicopter was dispatched to St. Andrews and forced the closure of the first and 18th hole on the Old Course for an hour as the helicopter landed and stayed on the 18th fairway with hopes of saving McColl.
Upon this devasting news players at the Scottish Open are wearing black ribbons to mourn the former player and golf instructor.
