We are just a couple of days away from WrestleMania 39 and there’s going to be a massive battle between The Beast Incarnate ‘Brock Lesnar’ and Nigerian Giant ‘Omos’ in a singles match. In the history of WWE, there are huge giants like Andre The Giant, Big Show, Mark Henry, The Great Khali, Kane, and Braun Strowman. These are just a name of some of them.
The Great Khali v/s The Undertaker
The rivalry between The Undertaker and The Great Khali in WWE began in 2006 when Khali made his debut on the SmackDown brand. The feud was sparked when Khali attacked The Undertaker during his match against Mark Henry, which resulted in a disqualification. Their first one-on-one match took place on Judgment Day in 2006, where The Undertaker was victorious. However, the feud continued, and they faced each other several more times.
One of the most memorable matches between The Undertaker and Khali was at SummerSlam in 2007, where they competed in a Last Man Standing match. The Undertaker managed to defeat Khali and continue his winning streak at the event.
Big Show v/s Brock Lesnar
Their rivalry’s first match took place at the Survivor Series 2002, where Lesnar managed to retain his title against Big Show. The rivalry continued into 2003 when they faced each other in a number of matches, including a stretcher match and a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble. In that match, Big Show was able to defeat Lesnar and win the championship, but Lesnar regained the title a few weeks later.
Their most memorable match was at the 2003 edition of the WWE SummerSlam. In that match, Lesnar superplexed Big Show and the ring collapsed under their combined weight, making for a stunning visual. Lesnar ultimately won the match. Their rivalry continued on and off over the years, with occasional matches and encounters between the two. One notable moment was in 2015 when Lesnar and Big Show had a brief confrontation on an episode of Monday Night Raw.
Overall, the rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Big Show was one that showcased the sheer size and strength of both men. While they may have had their differences, they always put on entertaining matches and moments for the WWE Universe to enjoy.
Mark Henry v/s Big Show
The rivalry between Mark Henry and Big Show in WWE started in 2011 when Henry turned heel and attacked Big Show during a match on an episode of SmackDown. Henry then proceeded to deliver the World’s Strongest Slam to Big Show, putting him out of action for a few weeks.
Their rivalry continued when Big Show returned and challenged Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Vengeance 2011. Henry managed to defeat Big Show and retain his title, but the rivalry continued. They faced each other again in a Chairs match at the TLC pay-per-view later that year, where Big Show was able to emerge victorious. The two men continued to feud on and off over the next few years, with occasional matches and confrontations.
One of the most memorable moments of their rivalry was when Mark Henry pulled off the superhuman feat of pulling two tractor-trailers, collectively weighing over 40,000 pounds, on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Big Show interrupted Henry’s celebration and challenged him to a match, which Henry declined.
The Undertaker v/s Kane
The rivalry of the storyline brothers (Undertaker and Kane) was popular for their size and performance in the ring at different times. One of the times when these two battled each other was their inferno match in 1998. The match took place at the Unforgiven pay-per-view on April 26, 1998.
The rules of an Inferno match are that the ring is surrounded by flames, and the objective is to set your opponent on fire by throwing them over the top rope and out of the ring. The flames around the ring made for a truly intense and dangerous atmosphere, and the match was a spectacle to behold. The Undertaker and Kane had been feuding for months leading up to the Inferno match, with Kane claiming that The Undertaker had caused the fire that killed their parents years earlier. The match was seen as a way to settle the score between the two brothers once and for all.
The match started with both men being cautious, trying to avoid the flames at all costs. The Undertaker eventually gained the upper hand, hitting Kane with a chokeslam and then attempting to throw him over the top rope and out of the ring. However, Kane fought back and managed to avoid being set on fire. Finally, The Undertaker was able to hit Kane with a flying clothesline, knocking him over the top rope and out of the ring. Kane’s arm caught fire as he fell to the outside, and he was quickly extinguished by WWE officials.
Andre The Giant v/s Hulk Hogan
The WrestleMania 3 (March 29, 1987) match between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant is one of the most famous matches in WWE history. This match took place when Andre the Giant had turned heel and aligned himself with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Andre had also claimed that he had never been defeated in a wrestling match and was demanding a title shot against Hogan, who was the WWE Champion at the time.
The highlight of the match was when Hulk Hogan lifted Andre The Giant and bodyslammed him for the first time in WWF and then hit his famous move Leg Drop to secure his victory and retain his championship.
The match between Hogan and Andre is still regarded as one of the greatest matches in WWE history, and it cemented Hogan’s status as one of the biggest stars in wrestling. The moment when Hogan lifted Andre off the ground and slammed him to the mat is an iconic moment that is still remembered and celebrated by wrestling fans to this day.
Braun Strowman v/s Big Show
The feud started when Big Show confronted Strowman during an episode of Raw, challenging him to a match. The first match between Strowman and Big Show took place on an episode of Raw in April 2017. The match ended in a no contest after the ring collapsed under the weight of both men following a superplex from the top rope. The moment was a shocking and unforgettable sight for fans, and it helped to cement the intensity and physicality of the Strowman-Big Show rivalry.
The rivalry between Strowman and Big Show eventually culminated in a Steel Cage match at the 2017 edition of the WWE’s pay-per-view event, “Raw” in September of that year. Strowman won the match, but both men earned respect from fans for their incredible performance.
The Strowman and Big Show rivalry was seen as a battle between two of the biggest and strongest competitors in WWE.
