Beloved College Football Coach Phillip Fulmer is Hospitalized but in Good Spirits
A familiar face in college football, Coach Phillip Fulmer, is in the hospital for a few days after a medical procedure at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Coach Fulmer, who used to lead the Tennessee Volunteers and also worked as an athletics director, is 72 years old and is known for his successful coaching career.
His family shared an update on his condition, saying he’s doing well despite being in the hospital. “Phillip underwent a medical procedure Thursday at UT Medical Center. He is alert and in good spirits and will remain at the hospital for a few days. We are thankful for the outstanding care he’s receiving, and we also appreciate the prayers and concern of so many who have reached out. He is looking forward to cheering on the Vols as they kickoff another exciting season!”

During his time as coach from 1992 to 2008, Coach Fulmer did a great job, winning 151 games, losing 52, and tying 1. He even won a national championship and was named the SEC Coach of the Year. His influence on the sport and his players is something that has left a lasting impact.
